Creating new race

im creating a new map that i want to create a new race for.

i have no idea how to do it. does anyone know how to do it?

Make sure to read Warcraft III World Editor Help... Under HELP.|||yea i have read the help but it didn't help|||before you can create a new race you should try some simpler things, like creating a new unit and some new abilities, just find out how in the object editor :)|||Quote:

Really? Everything is explained there. If you just read it carefully you will understand it.You should also try messing with Object Editor and experimenting things.|||The easiest way to create a new race is to use in game triggers to allow players to select their race once in the game. Then use the object editor to populate that race with units.

As far as a I know, there isn't a way to add another race to the drop down menu in the game lobby. You could easily create dialog buttons to allow players to select their race upon entering the game, however.|||There is a way to create another race in the pre-game drop down menu.

I didn't download any actual maps, but it appears from the screenshots in the thread you linked that the race selection is actually done in-game, not from the pre-game drop-down, because they show the selection in a dialog box. It could just be that their screenshots are out of date, I suppose.|||me I started yesterday and I already know how to make "new races". I just start editing the races by replacing units and buildings from the object menu, choose cost, make small adjustments and then I'm done|||Good for you.
