• Do not violate the Site rules
Starting a thread
- Acceptable map-making posts include things that relate to:
• A problem related to designing maps and triggers
• An error in triggering or a request for assistance with how to code triggers
• A general question about how to resolve or approach a map-making problem - Do not post unsolicited tutorials or guides - if you feel you have some tutorial or guide that should be posted on these forums, we have a separate subforum for that - post it there.
- Do not post about a map idea (complete or incomplete), collecting help for a map project, we have a separate sub-forum for that, too. If your thread isn't a question and it isn't specifically about making maps you are posting in the wrong forum.
- Make the topic name of your post relevant to the post's content (do not use "I have a question" for your thread title - specify the problem).
- Try to explain your question/problem completely and with enough detail that it can be answered by someone unfamiliar with what you intend to accomplish.
- Do not write subject lines to simply draw attention to your post. Do not shout your subject out (i.e. write it in capital letters).
- If you are posing a question about the Reign of Chaos (RoC) editor, make sure that you specify this in your thread.
Posting in a thread:
- Use courteous forum etiquette when posting:
• Do not post multiple times in a row (double-post). Exceptions to this rule can sometimes be made for specific conditions, but "no one is answering me" is not one of them.
• Do not use excessive punctuation or smilies.
• Do not abuse or use thread tags frivolously.
• Do not behave in a generally disruptive fashion.
• Respect your fellow posters and the forum moderators. Be polite, be patient, and don't incite a flame war. - Make the post relevant to the questions/problems in the topic.
- Don't revive ancient threads - we don't care about your vast thread necromancer powers. If a post is older than a month, the original poster has probably long since moved on to other issues, whether the thread was answered or not; so before you chime in with your 2 cents, check the date and see when the thread was last active.
- Do not knowingly post obviously wrong or intentionally misleading answers in response to questions posted. If you are uncertain of the solution, indicate that in your response.
- When posting trigger code, enclose it in code tags. To copy the entire contents of a trigger from the World Editor, right click on the name of the trigger in the Trigger Functions box of the Trigger Editor, and select copy as text. Then, paste the code to the forum.
In violation of any of these rules, A ban can occur from 1 day to a permanent ban which will be decided by the moderator giving the ban.
These rules can change any time, we thereby advise you to read these rules once in a while, to prevent complication from occurring.
