The way I want this to work is that when a catalyst item is dropped and the summoner picks it up, it will summon that SHU that is linked to that item. when the SHU dies (from damage or from time expiring) the summoner will be able to re-summon (resurrect) that learned SHU through an ability that somehow opens up a new menue listing all of the summoners learned SHU's. (maybe through a hidden actor that is attatched to the summoner that can resurrect those units)
so does anyone have any knowledge on how to do this? i allready set up the catalyst items that will summon those heroes when picked up.|||You want this:
There are more than one item that will summon/resurrect.. when the summoner picks op the item, it will summon/resurrect, the unit that is set to that item..
Exsampel:
Item Cheese - summon/resurrect - Footman
Item Umbrella - summon/resurrect - Archer
Item Lamp - summon/resurrect - Orc
So when the summoner pick up a "Chesse", it will summon/resurrect a footman.
And for every item he picks up, He learns to Summon them over and over again.
And a ability to show the current learned summon/resurrect Abilities?
Is that right?|||Quote:

kinda in theory only its a lil more complicated...its not just a normal trained unit, its a specific hero and everytime that hero gains a level and dies i want to be able to ressurect/summon that hero at that level with the same experience and abilities. Also say if two "cheese's" drop...the first cheese is meant to make the summoner learn that summon and summon the hero for the first time. Picking up any additional "cheese" would not do anything apart from maybe adding XP to that summon or maybe addng a skillpoint.
I guess the main problem is that heroes all resurrect at alters and to my knowledge i cant stop that from happening or have a menu that resurrects only one specific hero.
Another big problem would be "well, in that game, what if there just happened to be more than one summoner all under the control of the same player. they would each need to be able to summon individual heroes and not the same ones. but that part i can probably do without for now...it might make it too complicated i dont know what the triggers would even look like yet.
it gets pretty complicated the more i think about it...in the long run though it is a good idea that could be implemented in a lot of maps i suppose|||hmm.. i'll see if i can manage to do that..|||Quote:

I'm gonna try working on it a bit as well to the extent of my knowledge. So far, the only way i can think about getting around that summon hero not showing up on the alter would be to transfer its ownership over to another "Inactive" or neutral player whenever it dies. After it dies or disappears i gotta make a trigger ability that will resummon it and bring it back to life for that player :P|||I can write you a system if you don't mind vJASS (you won't be required to do any yourself). If you're interested, send me a personal message containing the precise details of what you want.|||Im not gonna be of any help but, you might want to ask the people who made this map:
Diablo 3
They have a summon ability on the witchdoctor that when you click the ability it opens another box that has all the summons you can cast, one of them only works with an ability that isn't in that extra box thing but it might be worthwhile to ask how its done. At least it might fix your problem. you should play that map too its is awesome almost perfect copy of what diablo 3 looks like.
